CARWIZ Expands Operations to Austria and Lithuania

CARWIZ rent a car, Croatia’s fastest-growing franchise, has signed two new franchise agreements to commence operations in Austria and Lithuania. With these additions, the CARWIZ International network will span 59 countries, operating across more than 455 locations.

In Lithuania, the first branch will open in Vilnius, the nation’s capital. This marks a key strategic point for expansion in the Baltics, enabling connections between Poland and Latvia, with further plans to expand to Estonia, thereby completing the CARWIZ presence across the entire Baltic region.

Simultaneously, after extensive negotiations, CARWIZ is extending its services to the Austrian market, starting with a branch in Vienna. In the coming period, additional locations in Salzburg, Graz, Linz, Innsbruck, and Klagenfurt are planned.

The Austrian market will be managed by CARWIZ’s current Hungarian partner. Dániel Pszota, Managing Director of Fábián Autószalonok, highlighted that after a successful collaboration and operations of CARWIZ rent a car in Hungary, they explored opportunities to expand the partnership. He credited their decision to the professional approach of the CARWIZ International team, their proactive support, and their results-driven focus.

"Austria has long been an area of interest for us as a car rental destination due to its proximity, low seasonality, and the appeal of nearby locations such as Salzburg and Innsbruck in addition to the capital," Pszota explained, elaborating on the decision to expand CARWIZ’s presence to the Austrian market.

CARWIZ International’s strategy for the upcoming business period includes strengthening cooperation between countries with Carwiz franchises, particularly through the “one-way rentals” service. This feature enhances mobility and flexibility for clients, allowing vehicle returns at any CARWIZ location, regardless of the pick-up point.
